The short version
OpticLock collects absolutely no personal data. There are no servers, no accounts, and no tracking of any kind. Everything the app does stays entirely on your device or within Apple's own systems.
1. Information We Collect
We collect nothing. OpticLock does not collect, transmit, store, or share any personal information, usage data, analytics, crash reports, or any other data about you or your device.
Specifically, OpticLock does not collect:
- Names, email addresses, or any account information
- Device identifiers or advertising identifiers
- Browsing history or the websites you visit
- The contents of your blocklist
- Biometric data of any kind
- Crash logs or diagnostics
- Location data
2. Your Blocklist
The list of websites you choose to protect is stored locally on your device using Apple's standard system storage. If you have iCloud enabled, your blocklist may sync across your own devices via iCloud — this sync is handled entirely by Apple and is subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
OpticLock has no access to iCloud infrastructure and never reads, transmits, or processes your blocklist outside of your own devices. We have no servers and no ability to access your data.
3. Biometric Authentication
OpticLock uses Face ID and Touch ID to authenticate access to protected websites. All biometric processing is performed exclusively by iOS and macOS through Apple's LocalAuthentication framework.
OpticLock never has access to your biometric data. Your face or fingerprint data is managed entirely by the secure enclave on your device and is never exposed to the app, transmitted anywhere, or stored outside of Apple's secure systems.
4. In-App Purchases
OpticLock offers optional in-app purchases processed entirely through Apple's App Store and StoreKit. We do not handle any payment information. Your purchase history, payment method, and billing details are managed solely by Apple and are subject to Apple's Terms of Service.
OpticLock receives only a confirmation from Apple indicating whether a purchase was made — no financial details are shared with us.
5. No Servers, No Accounts
OpticLock operates entirely offline. There are no OpticLock servers, no backend infrastructure, and no accounts to create or sign into. The app functions without any internet connection (other than iCloud sync, which is Apple's service).
Because we have no servers, there is no data for us to breach, sell, or share — ever.
6. Third-Party Services
OpticLock does not integrate any third-party SDKs, analytics services, advertising networks, or tracking frameworks. The only external systems OpticLock interacts with are Apple's own platform services:
- Apple LocalAuthentication — for Face ID / Touch ID
- Apple iCloud / CloudKit — for optional blocklist sync across your devices
- Apple StoreKit — for in-app purchases
Each of these is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
7. Children's Privacy
OpticLock does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Because we collect no data whatsoever, OpticLock is safe for users of all ages.
8. Changes to This Policy
If we ever update this Privacy Policy, we will post the revised version here with an updated date. Because we collect no data, any changes are unlikely to affect your privacy in a meaningful way. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
